It was with great sadness that the club learned this week of the tragic death of former player Tony McDermott. Tony’s family has a long association with the club and our sympathies are with his parents Kay and Benny, brother David, his sons and the entire family circle. Sympathy is also extended to Martina Lynch on the recent death of her sister. Suaimhneas síoraí ar a anam dílis
The Cairde Seamróga Ros Liath lotto jackpot has gone unclaimed for another week. The numbers drawn on Sunday night were 5, 15, 17 and 23. Tomas McPhillips won the seller’s prize and the five lucky dip winners were Siobhan McPhillips, Roslea, Pauline Reilly, Derryard, Bernie Cosgrove, Cornacrieve, Tony Callaghan, Main Street and Mary and Jimmy Cassidy St Patricks Park. Next week’s jackpot is still a massive £10000 and the draw will be held in McCague’s with Dom Reilly and Damien Clerkin co-ordinators. Thank you to all ticket sellers and those who purchase tickets for your continued support.
St. Gerard’s minors started their league campaign with an away match to Ederney on Sunday and unfortunately came away with no points. Two early goals conceded were to prove crucial for St Gearards before a great goal by Conor Keenan left it 2-5 to 1-2 at half time. Shane McAleer, Conor McNally and Sean Lynam showed real class with the latter converting 3 frees in the second half but that equalizing goal never came leaving it 2-8 to 2-5 at the end. Their next match is at home to Brookeborough on Sunday 26th at 12pm.
Roslea U14s had a bye in the first round of their league season and have a home fixture against Belnaleck on Saturday 25th February.
